Our Christmas Night Out 2008!
On our Christmas night out, we had an amazing time! The whole group got involved in Go-Carting and afterwards a meal in Ad-Lib (a wee restaurant in town near central station, quite good actually :-) u should try it)
Monday 15th December we all met up at Scot-Cart in Clydebank, As usual I was the 1st one there with Cheryl closely following. Waited about 15 mins for the rest of them! Anyway once we got in we had to fill out a form and then watch some crappy health and safety video, won’t bore you with the details there. Once they’d finished telling us the do’s and don’ts we got suited and booted with our racing suits, gloves, helmets. Sounds a bit much for some light go-carting but I can assure you the adult go-carts we were using go almost 40mph!!! It took a bit of time for us to get used to driving them but after a few laps the race was on! Personally I have to admit I crashed a few times lol, and I’m sure most people did, our 1st session lasted 10 minutes doesn’t seem that long but you get a lot of laps in 10 minutes. Checker flag flying it was time to come in and see the results, surprise to all when we realised Cameron had gotten the fastest lap! Getting our second 10 minute session underway every one was a lot more confident on the track, I couldn’t put a really fast lap in because Sam wouldn’t let me past! Grrrrrr Sam!!!! But I still won the second session, yeahhhhh me :-) !! Once we’d all got settled down after the heated race it was time for a scran,(for those of you who don’t understand scran means food!) got the train from Yoker to Queen street and 2 mins walk to Ad-Lib a little burger type restaurant. Food was good, a few fatties got starters and hadn’t realised the starters were just as big as a main meal! Belly’s full we sat for 10 minutes to let it settle and then it was time to go home. All in all it was a great night we had a lot of fun, thanks to all who came, Cheryl, Sam, James, Amy, Ilona, Cameron, Kim, John, Kirsty, Janet and of course me Chris. Can’t wait for the next night out will be a good 1!
